This is the time of year when administrative changes are named, teachers begin seeking different schools/districts/positions, and many things related to school seems to be up in the air.
Many principals and assistant principals are named to their new positions in April and May. Other changes are made just as school is letting out and into June. Because resignations and retirements do not have to be done until July, changes continue to take place right up until school starts.
With these changes comes unsettlement, questions, excitement, and disappointment.
People I know
. . . have lost their jobs b/c their positions no longer exist.
. . . have been named assistant principal.
. . . are having their hopes and dreams slashed since they have not gotten an assistant principal or principal position yet.
. . . are looking forward to relaxing this summer and starting fresh in August.
. . . are looking for jobs closer to home or positions they have dreamed of having.
I pray for those
. . . without jobs.
. . . trying with all their might to reach their dreams but haven't yet.
. . . who are staying put but will have new administration and are feeling uncertainty.
. . . whose dreams have come true. I hope it all they have ever wanted.
. . . in new positions.
Educators, enjoy your summer. Find time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate for next year.
For those of you looking for a job, I pray you find the one that best fits you.
