Today is Girl Scout Sunday. How will you spend it? Will you go to church? Will you do anything special at church? We invited our girls to visit our church. If we had had several, they could have been ushers and greeters.
Originally, I began this site to assist leaders and share Girl Scout ideas. I will continue to do that, but I have changed my focus to share a little about everything. I will ramble on and on about education, of which I have been a part for the last 28 years,Girl Scouts, which runs deeply through me as I was one from Kindergarten-12th grade, earned my Gold Award, and have led troops for at least 11 years, and life, which I live daily--the ups and the downs.
I have taught Pre-K students through adults in the private sector and through Professional Development. I taught 3rd-6th grades in public school, worked at the District level with K-5th Science teachers, and at the campus level with 6th-8th grade teachers in all content areas. I have worked more closely with the Science community the last 8 years, but I am now going back to my ELA and History roots and working with all three.
Our Girl Scout Troop, which I lead with a BFF, is a Cadette Troop. Over the last few years, we have had 5 girls earn their Bronze Award and 2 earn their Silver Award. We hope to have more in the coming years. Since this, we have combined 4 older girl troops. We now have girls 7th - 11th grades.
